The Travel Team takes the home track for the first time in the 2014 campaign as they take on the Sioux City Kornstalkers and the B-Keepers will open the evening’s festivities in a battle with the Tulsa Derby Militia.

Tulsa comes to St. Louis with a 3 - 5 record so far in the 2014 season, but had back to back wins last month at Midwest Derby Fest against the Oklahoma City Wolfpack to build some momentum coming into this contest. The B-Keepers meanwhile are at 1 - 2 with a win over the Capital City Hooligans and losses to Denton County and the Dallas Deception during a Texas road-trip back in early June. These two teams are going to bring serious intensity to the bout.

The main event features the GateKeepers’ Travel Team taking the home track for the first time this season as they take on the Sioux City Kornstalkers.

Sioux City comes into the bout ranked #23 in the MRDA and a record of 4 - 1 in sanctioned play. The Kornstalkers have a roster full of two-way players so it will be interesting to see how their jammer rotation plays out. Back in May, the Kornstalkers went 3 - 1 at Mayday Mayhem with their only loss coming at the hands of the Glenmore Reservoir Dogs.

The St. Louis GateKeepers are currently ranked #3 in the MRDA and have a record of 4 - 0. The GateKeepers have been winning their bouts this season by an average of 301.75 points per game. The offense and defense are both clicking right now and there is no reason to think they won’t carry this on into Saturday’s bout. The high-powered jammer rotation of Magnum, p.i.m.p, Shane Bower and Debaucherous Prime will certainly be problematic for Sioux City and the blocking corps anchored by Double Excel, Percy Controll and Bled Zepplin have looked really good so far this season. The only real question mark is who will step up to fill the void left by the retirement of Neil Death Experience. That will be a story-line to watch as this season plays out.

Both of these teams have not played a sanctioned bout in over two months so we’ll see if there is any rust to shake off when the first whistle blows.

The St. Louis GateKeepers take to the road later this month to play the (#2) New York Shock Exchange and the (#6) Bridgetown Menace at Rollercon in Las Vegas on July 26th and 27th (respectively). The GateKeepers then return home on August 28th as they take on the Dallas Deception.

See you at the bouts!
