Tim Ezell visits the GateKeepers for a derby lesson

[21 Mar 2011 | 2 Comments | ]

The GateKeepers were on FOX2 news this morning with Tim Ezell of Tim’s Travels. They taught him how to “pass the star” - a move sometimes seen during longer power jams.

After a lead jammer has been established, both jammers have the option of passing their positions to their teams’ respective pivots (passing the star). This is done by removing the 2-star helmet cover and handing it to the pivot (the person with the striped helmet cover). The pivot then becomes the jammer, and the jammer becomes a blocker for the remainder of the jam.

Now that you know more about the move, check out the video and let us know how you think Tim did!
