GateKeepers Ranked #1 in first MRDA National Rankings!

After sweeping their three bouts at Spring Roll (including a win over previously undefeated New York) the GateKeepers have earned the #1 ranking in the first official MRDA National Rankings. These rankings were decided by a process in which each member team sent in a list of their rankings and then any differences in the rankings were debated. However, most teams happened to turn in nearly identical rankings for this historical first ranking.

The GateKeepers were a clear number one after their impressive showing at Spring Roll by beating Puget Sound, Harm City and New York and the New York Shock Exchange moved into the number two slot after defeating Puget Sound, Dallas and only losing to the GateKeepers by 20 points in their battle at Spring Roll. The Magic City Misfits used a 3 - 0 showing at Spring Roll to secure the number three slot with wins over Race City, Dallas and Pioneer Valley. The Puget Sound Outcast takes the number four slot after going 2-2 at Spring Roll with victories over Connecticut and Pioneer Valley and falling to the GateKeepers and New York. Pioneer Valley rounds out the top five after a 1 - 2 record at Spring Roll in which they beat Race City and lost close games to both Puget Sound and Magic City.

The rest of the rankings are as follows:

6 - Dallas Deception
7 - Twin Cities Terrors
8 - Harm City Homicide
9 - Connecticut Death Quads
10 - Race City Rebels
11 - Central Mass Maelstrom (were unfortunately unable to attend Spring Roll)

Their will be one more set of rankings released before October and the top six teams in those rankings will be invited to the MRDA Championships in New York. It’s an exciting time in men’s derby and particularly in St. Louis as the GateKeepers have a chance to really make their mark in the national derby scene this year and with their depth they will likely be contenders for years to come.

See you at the bouts!
