GateKeepers face off against TC Terrors this Saturday!
The GateKeepers will take on the TC Terrors this Saturday night at the Midwest Sports Hockey Complex at Queeny Park!
The Arch Rival Roller Girls will be hosting this event as two Minnesota teams roll into St. Louis to take on the GateKeepers and the Arch Rival Roller Girls All-Stars.
To start off the evening, the GateKeepers will take on the TC Terrors in the first MRDA sanctioned bout to take place in St. Louis. These two teams faced each other last August in an extremely physical bout that saw a few injuries and some tempers flare. The GateKeepers pulled off an impressive 144 - 93 win in Minnesota over the TC Terrors and used that momentum to then take down the Magic City Misfits the following month. Both teams will have something to prove as the GateKeepers will look to continue their dominant play that allowed them to sweep Spring Roll (you can read my in-depth recap of Spring Roll here) and earned the GateKeepers the #1 ranking in the MRDA’s first national rankings. The TC Terrors will be coming to St. Louis to prove that they can beat anyone, anywhere at anytime. The Terrors are coming off a 2 - 1 record at Spring Roll in which they beat Connecticut and Harm City but fell to Dallas.
Expect extremely physical play as both teams like to throw their weight around and I imagine the GateKeepers will be giving the Terrors a heavy dose of Gnat King Kill who is having one hell of a rookie season at jammer. Also expect Short Knocks and Debaucherous Prime to get extra work this bout with Bat Wing on the disabled list after having surgery on a sports hernia earlier this week.
After the GateKeepers play the TC Terrors, the #10 Arch Rival Roller Girls will take on the #7 North Star Supernovas (ranked in the WFTDA North Central region). The Arch Rival Roller Girls are coming off an impressive showing at Brewhaha which catapulted them into the top 25 on the Derby News Network’s international rankings. This bout has some major implications as whoever wins this bout will pretty much secure themselves a spot in the postseason.
Both bouts are sure to be explosive so get your tickets now at Brown Paper Tickets!
Also be sure to join us on June 18th as the Turf Wars continue. We will see a rematch of the season opener with the South Grand Slammers taking on the RiverFront Crimes. See my full bout preview next week!
See you at the bouts!
