Introducing the B-Keepers!

The B-Keepers will make their debut on Sunday, May 29th in Springfield Missouri as they take on the Ozarks Derby Brigade. The B-Keepers will be used as a development squad to evaluate talent and to provide those who don’t necessarily aspire to play for the GateKeepers’ Travel Team an opportunity to take on talent from outside the organization. This is the next logical step in the development of the GateKeepers’ organization and this squad will be used to contribute to the development of the sport throughout the midwest by providing a competitive matchup for regional teams that have not yet elevated themselves to playing top tier teams.

Captained by Specs Offender and NoFX-Shun, the B-Keepers will face their first opponent in the Ozarks Derby Brigade based out of Springfield. Its hard to say what is going to happen when you have essentially two unknown opponents facing off. The B-Keepers do have some veteran leadership on the track with Travel Team veterans like Specs Offender, NoFX-Shun and Shanego Fett so they should be able to bring this squad together and I imagine they will play as a cohesive unit right off the bat.

Full B-Keepers roster (for the ODB bout)
20/20 - Specs Offender
217 - NoFX-Shun
Ep2 - Shanego Fett
00 - NewB Neil
1 - The Saint
24 - Gnat King Kill
5150 - Inquadable Hulk
29 - Holden U’Backs
3 - Talahassee Toad
4 - Poppa Choppa
100Proof - Oobles of Brutal
42 - Mr. Dent
51 - Stiv Thunders
99 - Skulls McCrackin

Alternates
66 - Screech Around
69 - Outcast

Looks like a solid lineup to me and I look forward to seeing what these guys can do on the track. The GateKeepers continue to lead the way as now they have a development squad to go along with their Travel Team and three local teams.

The next local action for the GateKeepers is on June 11th at the Midwest Sports Hockey Complex at Queeny Park as they are playing in a double-header with the Arch Rival Roller Girls. The TC Terrors and the North Star SuperNovas are coming to town and it should be one hell of an evening of physical and fast derby action. Get your tickets now at Brown Paper Tickets.

On June 18th, the Turf Wars continue at Queeny Park as we see a rematch of the season opener between the South Grand Slammers and the RiverFront Crimes. The Crimes won their first meeting with the Slammers 165-143 and the Slammers will be looking for revenge. Before those two teams battle, you will be treated to an expo bout featuring women’s roller derby players from the metro area as the Kittens take on the Cougars. Get your tickets now at Brown Paper Tickets!

See you at the bouts!
