Not satisfied with his daily grind of day to day business, short knocks needed something more in his life. Catching wind of a men’s derby team from his derby playing wife, short knocks came back onto the rink for the first time in ten years. At first skeptical about the sport, #88 soon found out that derby offered more than just a chance to put on a pair of quads and skate in circles. As the practices continued it turned out that roller derby was more than he could have ever wished for. Despite having played many sports in his youth it became apparent derby was the most physically demanding, mentally challenging, team disciplined, and strategic not to mention fun sport he had ever played. An awesome sport combined with structured practices and enthusiastic coaches is constant motivation for short to improve his game and help put the GateKeepers one the map.
