The Midwest Sports Hockey Complex at Queeny Park will be rocking this Saturday night as the Dogtown Rockets face off against the RiverFront Crimes and in the expo bout the Freaks take on the Geeks.

Starting off the evening we have a great expo bout in store for you as you will see the women take to the track in the battle of Freaks vs. Geeks.  Women’s players from all over the bi-state area will be competing in this grudge match that is sure to be a lot of fun.

In the main event of the evening, the 2012 Turf Wars regular season comes to a close as the Dogtown Rockets look to finish off a second consecutive undefeated regular season, but the Crimes will be looking to play spoilers.  The Rockets have once again cruised through the regular season so far winning their bouts by an average margin of 64.6 points and the last time the Rockets faced the Crimes, the Rockets won by a score of 174 – 104.  Downtown Dallis and The Educator have the Rockets running like a finely-tuned machine right now, but Mayor Francis Slayer and Grave Danger are going to have the Crimes whipped up into a frenzy for Saturday night.  The Crimes are like a wounded animal backed into a corner.  They have nothing to lose and were in this same position last season when they almost pulled off the upset and took the Rockets down to the wire.  Injuries have decimated the Crimes this season and they have actually had to enlist the aid of some of the Slammers to fill their roster for this bout so the Rockets are certainly going to have their hands full.  The injuries have also brought Short Knocks out of retirement as he will rejoin his team for the evening!  While this bout may have no bearing on the 2012 Turf Wars Championships, I guarantee you this is a pride bout and the Crimes are going to leave nothing on the track Saturday night.

It has been a rough season for injuries for all three teams this season.  Fortunately most have only resulted in a few weeks of missed action, but some have been season ending.

On September 8th the Dogtown Rockets will face off against the South Grand Slammers in the 2012 Turf Wars Championships at at the Midwest Sports Hockey Complex at Queeny Park!  Come be a part of history as we crown the second local league champion in the history of the St. Louis GateKeepers!

On September 22nd the GateKeepers’ Travel Team will be in action against the #1 ranked MRDA team from Des Moines.  Be sure to come to Queeny Park and cheer the hometown boys on to victory in what just may be a preview of the 2012 MRDA Championship bout!
